Withington is a lively suburban area where the residents are a mixture of families, students, and affluent "young professionals" - often themselves former students. It is about a mile from the campus of the University of Manchester, and Manchester Metropolitan University is only a little further away.

Withington is something of a contrast to the northern towns I usually visit, and I should come here more often.
