Street photography captures candid, unstaged moments in public places. The images should reflect human behaviour, social dynamics, and the subtle beauty of everyday life. Street photography thrives on timing, observation, and authenticity rather than perfect lighting or posed subjects.
This is everyday life as I see it, mainly in Northern England.
The photos on here are all contemporary, usually posted on the day they were taken.
I also post to another blog, my Northern Folk Archive, which contains some favourite photos from my archives.

Manchester city centre is always an interesting place to visit, and on Saturdays is always a busy place too. I guess everybody has their favourite spots, and I almost always find something on Market Street, just like so many other Market Streets.
I like railway stations too for photographs, and I should make more of an effort to visit my local stations - watch this space.
